Temporarily, about 5,000 USD in local currency must be deposited in a bank account, but this will be withdrawn again after receiving the residence permit. If you have an academic degree, this deposit requirement does not apply. A bachelor's degree is sufficient. It is only important that the academic title is visible on the certificate. All documents must be either translated to English or Spanish and depending on the case some document need to be certified with an apostille. The Police Clearance may not be older than 6 months.

He will go with you through the whole process in Asuncion within 1 or 2 days. After that you need to wait up to a half year to receive your so-called "Cedula". However, you will already be permitted to stay in Paraguay until you finally receive your Cedula card.
