Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha form the only overseas territory of the United Kingdom. The islands are self-governing and have their own parliament and judiciary. Despite their small size, Saint Helena and Ascension are home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, making them some of the world's most important conservation areas. Tristan da Cunha is also home to one of the world's most remote inhabited islands.
