Sharjah is a tiny emirate on the southeastern coast of UAE, bounded by Oman to the south and east, and alongside the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz to the west. It has a population of around 1.5 million people, most of whom are Muslims. Sharjah shares its border with Dubai, which makes up around 85% of the total population in Sharjah.
