About this jurisdiction

Palestine is a country located in the Middle East. It has a population of about 9 million people and occupies about 3,567 square kilometers. Palestine became an independent state in 1948 after winning its War of Independence from mandate Britain. However, because of its lack of sovereignty over parts of the territory it claims as its own - including the Gaza Strip and West Bank - Palestine has been considered a "disputed territory" by the United Nations since 1967.
