Rwanda has a population that is diverse and includes a number of different ethnic groups. The capital city is Kigali. The Rwandan government is based on a parliamentary system with a president as the head of state. The judiciary is based on French civil law. Rwanda is a member state of the African Union, United Nations, Francophonie, and OAU.
